NYSERDA Assists New Yorkers to Power Naturally

NYSERDA is working to build a vibrant renewable energy industry in the State through its programs working with industry, the renewable energy workforce, inspectors, and other associated businesses.

NYSERDA invests in renewable energy through programs that provide funds to emerging businesses for product and business development, product marketing assistance, incubators for start up industry and other support. NYSERDA also provides grants to companies that locate their operations in New York and manufacture renewable energy and associated technologies.

By 2013, twenty-five percent of all power used in New York is to come from renewable resources via the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS). Renewable resources include solar, wind, biomass, and some hydroelectricity. In order to achieve the RPS “25 by 2013” goal, NYSERDA offers grants and incentives to help bring down the costs of these clean resources.

Incentives are available for homeowners, schools, farms, municipalities and other entities for solar electricity and small wind. Incentives also are available to encourage the construction and operation of large renewable energy power plants such as wind farms and biomass facilities that produce large amounts of electricity which are fed into the grid.

Explore this website and our funding opportunities to see what is available, and feel free to contact us at any time for more information.
